Privacy Policy
Effective date and last updated: July 31, 2026
Privacy at a glance: The App works without an account. Compensation details, work schedules, payday details, mood records, widget preferences, and photos selected for supported widget styles are processed locally. The App does not send this information to the developer, advertisers, or analytics providers.
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
This Privacy Policy describes how My Workday: Pay Widget (the “App”) handles information. “We,” “us,” and “our” refer to the App’s independent developer, Jiangyu Xiang. This policy covers the App and its Home Screen widget extension. It does not replace the privacy terms of Apple or other services you choose to use.
2. Information you may provide
You can use the App to enter or configure the following information:
- Earnings information: pay basis, pay rate or salary amount, currency, workdays, typical work hours, breaks, and optional overtime settings.
- Payday information: pay frequency and the next expected payday.
- Work Mood information: a selected mood, related work factors, the date of the entry, and an optional note.
- Widget information: selected widget designs, size, colors, typography, display preferences, privacy choices, and saved widget configurations.
- Selected photos: photos you intentionally choose for widget styles that support personal images, together with crop and positioning choices.
- App preferences: appearance, onboarding progress, and other functional settings.
3. How information is used and stored
The App uses this information only to provide features you request, including estimated earnings progress, workday status, payday countdowns, Work Mood check-ins and history, widget previews, and Home Screen widgets.
Information is stored in the App’s local iOS storage. Data needed by a Home Screen widget is also stored in an Apple App Group container shared only by the App and its own widget extension. The App does not operate a user-account system or developer-controlled cloud database.
When you select a photo, the system photo picker provides the App with the image you selected. The App prepares a local JPEG copy sized for the widget and stores it in the App Group container. The App does not request unrestricted access to your photo library. Locally prepared widget-photo copies are marked as excluded from device backup.
4. Data collection, sharing, advertising, and tracking
For this policy, “collect” means transmitting information off your device so that the developer or a third party can access it beyond the time needed to fulfill a request.
The current version of the App does not collect App data. It does not include developer-operated servers, advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking technologies. We do not sell, rent, or share your in-App information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
5. Device information used locally
The App uses the date, time, time zone, locale, and calendar rules available on your device to calculate workday progress, payday timing, and dated mood history. It does not request location access and does not read events from your device calendars.
6. Apple services, device backups, and external pages
Apple may process information when you download, install, back up, or use the App through services such as the App Store, iOS, iCloud Backup, and WidgetKit. Apple handles that information under its own policies. Depending on your device and backup settings, Apple-managed device backups may include some locally stored App data even though the App does not provide its own cloud-sync service.
The Privacy Policy and Support pages are hosted using GitHub Pages. When you open them, GitHub may receive technical information normally associated with a web request, such as an IP address, browser information, and request logs. GitHub handles that information under the GitHub General Privacy Statement. These pages do not intentionally add analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or marketing cookies.
7. Support communications
If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, screenshots, and diagnostic details. We use support communications only to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and maintain reasonable support records. Support email is separate from the App and is not required to use the App.
Please do not email sensitive information. You do not need to send exact compensation amounts, private mood notes, personal photos, passwords, or payment information to receive support. Redact screenshots where appropriate.
8. Retention, deletion, and your choices
- Local settings and records remain until you edit or delete them, reset the applicable feature, or delete the App.
- You can edit or delete Work Mood entries from Mood History.
- You can replace selected widget photos. Deleting a saved photo-widget design removes its local image when no other saved design still uses that image.
- Removing a Home Screen widget does not by itself delete information stored by the App.
- Deleting the App generally removes its local App and App Group data from the device. Apple-managed backups may follow Apple’s own retention and restoration behavior.
- Because there is no developer-operated account or cloud database, there is no server-side App profile for us to delete.
- You may ask us to delete a support conversation, subject to records we must retain for security, legal, or dispute-resolution purposes.
9. Security
The App relies on iOS sandboxing, Apple App Group protections, atomic file writes, and iOS file-protection mechanisms for locally stored information. No storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Protect access to your device and avoid entering information you do not want stored on it.
10. Children’s privacy
The App is a workplace utility and is not directed to children under 13. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a child sends information through a support email, a parent or guardian may contact us to request deletion.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App or its practices change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new “last updated” date. If a future version introduces developer-operated accounts, off-device data collection, analytics, advertising, or cloud sync, the policy and applicable App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before those practices begin.
